- People who have had a positive result on another bowel cancer screening test recently — within the last 12 months for a stool blood test (FOBT or FIT), or within the last 36 months for a FIT-DNA test
- People with a personal history of high-risk bowel conditions, such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease), Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, or inherited cancer syndromes such as Lynch Syndrome or Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome, among others (confirm full list with trial site)
- People who have had a positive Shield test result within the past 3 years
- People with a history of any cancer — except those who had a type of skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) surgically removed at least 12 months before signing the consent form
- People currently taking certain medications used to treat cancer or to modify immune diseases (DMARDs)
- People who have had a major physical event in the 30 days before signing the consent form, such as surgery, a serious injury, an organ transplant, or a blood transfusion
- People with a medical condition that the trial investigator believes makes participation unsuitable
- People who have received, or may receive, an experimental medication as part of another clinical study within 30 days before signing the consent form, or between signing the consent form and having their colonoscopy
