Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People who have a confirmed diagnosis of either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
- People who currently have a diabetic foot ulcer that is being actively treated by a wound care team
- People whose foot ulcer size meets the study's specific size requirements and who do not have critically reduced blood flow to the limb
- People whose doctor has confirmed it is medically safe for them to take part in upper body and non-weight-bearing exercises without direct supervision
- People who are willing and able to follow the study's schedule, including regular exercise sessions and using offloading devices to protect the foot
- People whose diabetes medication has been stable for at least 4 weeks before joining the study
- People who are able to provide written consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose foot ulcer involves critically reduced blood flow to the limb, severe infection (such as infection in the bone), or a wound that is getting significantly worse
- People with unstable heart conditions, such as uncontrolled irregular heartbeat, a heart attack within the past 6 months, severe heart failure, or any other heart-related condition that makes exercise unsafe
- People with nerve or joint/muscle conditions that would significantly limit their ability to perform upper body or core exercises, such as severe arthritis or a recent upper body injury
- People with significant cognitive or psychiatric conditions that would affect their ability to give informed consent or follow the study protocol
- People who are already enrolled in another clinical trial or exercise program that would conflict with this study
- People with any other medical condition that the study doctor determines would put them at increased risk of harm during exercise (confirm with trial site)
