Who may be able to join
- People who have been confirmed through laboratory testing to have extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (a specific classification of advanced lung cancer).
- People who have not previously received any systemic (whole-body) treatment for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.
- People who were previously treated for an earlier stage of small cell lung cancer with radiation, chemotherapy, or both, as long as that treatment was intended to cure and ended at least 6 months before being diagnosed with the more advanced (extensive) stage.
- People who have at least one measurable area of cancer as defined by standard medical imaging guidelines (RECIST 1.1), and if a previously treated area has grown back, there must also be at least one other untreated measurable area of cancer.
- People aged 18 to 75, with a good general health and activity level (ECOG score of 0 or 1), and an expected survival of at least 3 months.
- People whose blood counts meet minimum levels without recent transfusions or blood-stimulating medications: enough white blood cells, platelets, and red blood cells (confirm specific values with trial site).
- People whose kidneys are functioning well enough, with low protein in the urine (confirm specific values with trial site).
- People whose liver is functioning well enough, including healthy levels of liver enzymes and proteins (confirm specific values with trial site).

Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who currently have brain metastases causing symptoms — though people whose brain metastases have been treated, have been stable for at least 1 month, and who have not needed steroids or anti-seizure medications for at least 1 month before joining, may still be considered.
- People who have previously been treated with certain anti-blood vessel growth drugs (such as anlotinib, apatinib, or bevacizumab) or certain immune therapy drugs that target PD-1 or PD-L1.
- People who have conditions that would make swallowing or absorbing oral medication difficult, such as an inability to swallow, having had part of the digestive system surgically removed, long-term diarrhoea, or a bowel blockage.
- People who have fluid build-up around the lungs, heart, or abdomen that cannot be controlled and requires repeated draining.
- People whose scans show that the cancer has grown into or very close to major blood vessels, or who the trial doctor believes are at high risk of serious bleeding due to tumour location.
- People who have a history of serious bleeding problems or blood clotting disorders, including coughing up more than a tablespoon of blood per day in the 3 months before joining, or significant bleeding signs in the 4 weeks before joining (such as stomach ulcer bleeding, wounds that have not healed, or broken bones that have not healed).
- People who have had major surgery, a surgical biopsy, or a serious physical injury within 28 days before joining the trial.
- People who have had a blood clot or stroke-related event — such as a stroke, mini-stroke, deep vein clot, or blood clot in the lungs — within the 6 months before joining.
- People who have an active autoimmune disease that has required ongoing medical treatment (such as steroids or immune-suppressing drugs) within the 2 years before the first dose.
- People who, in the trial doctor's judgement, have any other condition that would make participation unsafe or unsuitable.
