Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 40 years of age or older
- People who have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF), meaning a type of irregular heartbeat that comes and goes
- People who have a recorded episode of AF (shown on a heart tracing or equivalent test) within the past 12 months — if someone has previously had a procedure to treat AF, there must be evidence of AF occurring after the recovery period from that procedure
- People whose AF symptoms fall within a specific range on a standard AF symptom scale (a score between 13 and 26 on the AF Severity Scale) (confirm with trial site)
- People who report doing between 30 and 120 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per week (such as brisk walking, cycling, or similar exercise)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not able to give informed consent to take part in the study
- People who have had a heart rhythm procedure (AF ablation), a procedure to open blocked heart arteries, or a hospital admission for heart failure within the past 90 days
- People whose heart pumping function is below 50%, or who have significant heart valve disease or a history of mechanical heart valve replacement, or who have an implanted pacemaker or defibrillator device
- People who have unstable blood-thinning medication levels or who are unable to take blood-thinning medication when it is medically required
- People with a life expectancy of less than one year
- People who are on kidney dialysis, or who have severe lung or liver disease
- People who have joint, muscle, balance, walking, circulation, or nerve problems that would limit their ability to exercise
- People who report doing less than 30 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per week
- People whose physical activity, when measured by a FitBit device at the start of the study, is found to be 180 minutes or more per week — even if they initially reported doing between 30 and 120 minutes per week
