Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 70 years
- People whose lumbar (lower back) disc herniation has been confirmed by an MRI scan
- People who received a specific type of lower back steroid injection (called a caudal epidural steroid injection) at Çankırı State Hospital within the past 2 weeks
- People who still have lower back or leg pain of at least 3 out of 10 on a pain scale after that injection
- People who have been cleared by a doctor to safely do moderate aerobic exercise and core-strengthening exercise, with no heart or joint/bone conditions preventing this
- People who are able to attend supervised physiotherapy sessions three times per week for six weeks
- People who are willing and able to sign a consent form and follow the study procedures
- People who can read and write Turkish to at least a primary school level, in order to complete the study questionnaires
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a serious ongoing health condition that is not well managed, such as poorly controlled diabetes, heart failure, or active liver disease
- People showing serious neurological warning signs, such as spinal cord pressure problems or a condition called cauda equina syndrome (confirm with trial site)
- People who have previously had surgery on the affected disc in their lower back
- People who are currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study period
- People with a severe muscle, bone, heart, or breathing condition that would make exercise unsafe
- People who are currently taking steroid tablets or strong opioid pain medicines that cannot be kept at a stable dose for the whole duration of the trial
- People who have an active legal claim or workers' compensation case related to their lower back pain
- People who are not able to communicate effectively with the study team or follow instructions
