Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have agreed to take part and have signed a consent form.
- Your shingles-related nerve pain has not improved enough with medications or other non-surgical treatments, or the side effects of those treatments have been too difficult to tolerate.
- Your shingles rash affected areas on or around your head, neck, chest, or lower back.
- Your pain is moderate to severe, meaning it scores 4 or higher on a pain scale of 0–10.
- You are between 40 and 85 years old.
- You weigh at least 50 kg (about 110 lbs) if male, or at least 45 kg (about 99 lbs) if female.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have serious heart disease or a dangerous irregular heartbeat (such as heart failure or a significant heart rhythm problem without a pacemaker).
- You have a condition that makes minor procedures risky, such as a blood clotting disorder or an active infection.
- You are allergic to local anaesthetics or fat-based IV solutions, or you have severe problems with your heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys that would make the procedure unsafe.
- You have a serious hormone-related condition, or you have been taking steroid or immune-suppressing medications for a long time.
- You have memory, thinking, or cognitive difficulties that would make it hard to follow the treatment plan.
- You have previously had nerve-related treatments such as spinal cord stimulation or a procedure called pulsed radiofrequency (PRF).
