Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are Chinese and between 12 and 19 years old
• You (and your parent or guardian if you are under 18) are willing to sign a consent form to take part in the study
• You have been diagnosed with non-seasonal depression (not linked to seasons) confirmed through a structured psychiatric interview, and your depression score on a standard rating scale is at least 40
• You tend to be a "night owl" (you naturally prefer staying up late and waking up later), based on your score on a short questionnaire about your sleep and daily preferences

Who may not be able to join:

• You currently have a problem with drug or alcohol misuse, or you have a history of manic or hypomanic episodes, schizophrenia-related conditions, brain-related mental disorders, or intellectual disabilities
• You are currently having serious thoughts of suicide that include a plan or a past attempt, as assessed during a psychiatric interview
• You have taken part in another clinical trial involving an investigational treatment within the past month
• You have started taking antidepressant medication, or your dose has been changed, in the past 4 weeks
• You are currently receiving, or have previously received, any structured talking therapy (such as a formal course of psychotherapy)
• You have a significant hearing or speech difficulty
• You regularly work night shifts
• You have travelled across two or more time zones (for example, on a long-haul flight) in the past 3 months, or plan to do so during the study
• You have an eye condition such as retinal blindness, severe cataracts, or glaucoma
