Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with acid reflux disease (GERD) or a related condition (NERD) through a camera examination of the stomach, done within the last 15 days.
  • People who have had a specific test measuring acid and fluid movement in the food pipe (called impedance pHmetry) with results confirming reflux, done within the last 15 days.
  • People who have been experiencing recurring symptoms of heartburn and regurgitation (stomach contents coming back up) for at least 3 months.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are known to have an allergic reaction or sensitivity to the study medications tegoprazan or pantoprazole, or any of their ingredients.
  • People who are currently taking any of the following medications: atazanavir, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine.
  • People who have kidney disease or liver disease, including non-alcoholic hepatitis.
  • People who have bleeding in the upper part of their digestive tract (stomach or food pipe).
  • People who have had a stomach or small intestine ulcer within the 2 months before the screening visit.
  • People who have previously had surgery on their stomach or food pipe.
