Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and experience any signs of nerve damage in the feet or legs, such as numbness, tingling, unusual sensations, or weakness in the lower legs.
- People whose results on a standard foot sensation test (where a thin filament is pressed against the foot to check feeling) are outside the normal range.
- People whose results on a balance test — standing on one leg with eyes open — are outside the normal range.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a long-term open wound or ulcer on their foot.
- People who have severe leg or foot pain that cannot be managed with medications or other treatments.
- People who have a significant foot shape abnormality, such as a very high arch, severely curled toes, or a toe that has been amputated.
- People whose body weight relative to their height (BMI) is above 35.
- People whose vision, even with glasses or contact lenses, is below a certain level of clarity (confirm with trial site).
- People who have balance or coordination problems caused by a muscle, joint, inner ear, or brain condition.
- People who are experiencing confusion, drowsiness, dizziness, or a high risk of falling due to any illness or a change in medication within the past two weeks.
- People who have a cardiac pacemaker, an artificial knee joint, or metal implants in the lower legs.
- People who are unable to walk or stand for at least 5 minutes.
- People who are unable to understand or follow the instructions required for the study, or who are unable to give informed consent to participate.
