- Your blood test shows a uric acid level between 360–540 μmol/L (for women) or 420–540 μmol/L (for men)

- You are unwilling or unable to give your consent to take part
- The trial doctor has concerns about whether you would be able to follow the trial requirements (confirm with trial site)
- You have any serious or unstable health conditions, or a sudden illness, that could affect the trial results
- You have a problem with alcohol or drug misuse
- Your water tablet (diuretic) dose has changed in the month before or during the trial
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial
- You are currently taking any dietary supplements or nutritional additives
