Who might be able to join this trial:

• The child must be willing to take part in the study
• The child must be between 6 and 9 years old
• This must be the first time the child is having a needle placed in their vein (IV line) since arriving at the clinic
• The child must not have any problems with their vision, hearing, or speech
• The child must not have any intellectual or learning disabilities
• The child and/or family must be able to speak and understand Turkish
• The child must not be experiencing pain, nausea, or vomiting at the time of the study, as these could affect feelings of fear or anxiety
• The child must not have been given any calming or pain-relieving medication just before the IV needle is inserted

Who may not be able to join:

• The child has a long-term, inherited, metabolic, or nervous system condition
• The first attempt to place the IV needle was unsuccessful
• The child or family is unable to fully complete the study questionnaires
• The child had another procedure involving needles or similar interventions just before the IV needle was inserted
• The child is not cooperative or does not follow instructions during the procedure
• The child wishes to stop taking part in the study at any point
