Who might be able to join this trial:
Group 1 (people at risk of foot ulcers):
- Adults between 18 and 75 years old, male or female
- People with type 2 diabetes who have a mild to moderate risk of developing a foot ulcer (classified as grade 2 risk)
Group 2 (people with a history of foot ulcers):
- Adults between 18 and 75 years old, male or female
- People with type 2 diabetes who have had a foot ulcer in the past (classified as grade 3), where the ulcer has been fully healed for at least 6 months
Who may not be able to join:
Group 1:
- People who have had or currently have a foot ulcer
- People who currently have an active infection or an active cancer
- People currently taking medications that suppress the immune system, or steroid (cortisone-based) medications
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are not able to give informed consent to take part in the study
Group 2:
- People who currently have an active infection or an active cancer
- People currently taking medications that suppress the immune system, or steroid (cortisone-based) medications
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are not able to give informed consent to take part in the study
