Who might be able to join this trial:

• Children and teenagers between 8 and 17 years of age.
• A parent or guardian must be willing and able to give consent for the child to participate.
• The child or teenager must show elevated levels of anxiety or depression, based on at least one of the following: a score of 15 or higher on the SCARED anxiety screening tool, a depression score of 65 or higher on the RCADS scale, or a clinician severity rating of 3 or more on any anxiety or mood-related disorder using the K-SADS assessment (confirm with trial site).

Who may not be able to join:

• Children or teenagers who have been diagnosed with Conduct Disorder, or who have behavioural difficulties that could make group participation difficult — such as trouble following instructions, defiance, hyperactivity, impulsivity, or behaviours that could harm others.
• Children or teenagers who have a diagnosis of autism or a developmental delay.
• Children or teenagers who are currently experiencing psychotic symptoms or active thoughts of suicide.
• Children or teenagers with an active eating disorder that is considered serious enough to require its own dedicated treatment and close monitoring.
• Children or teenagers whose medication dose is currently unstable, has recently changed, or is expected to change soon.
• Children or teenagers who do not speak English.
• Children or teenagers who are Wards of the State.
