Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People of any sex
- People who have been diagnosed with a mild to moderate clouding of the eye's lens (Grade I or Grade II nuclear cataract) AND a specific type of swelling in the back of the eye related to diabetes that does not affect the central area of vision (non-center-involving diabetic macular edema)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cataract was caused by a physical injury to the eye
- People with severe or advanced diabetic eye disease affecting the blood vessels at the back of the eye
- People where the diabetic eye disease is significantly different between their two eyes
- People with a very advanced cataract or severe clouding of the eye's lens
- People who may need a combined cataract and glaucoma surgery (confirm with trial site)
- People who experience complications during or after the trial surgery
