Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a civilian (not a member of the military)
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You were living in Ukraine when the full-scale war began and are still living there now
- You are able to attend sessions either in person or online
- You are able to communicate via a smartphone chat app
- You speak Ukrainian or Russian
- You are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, or emotional distress that is directly or indirectly related to the war, as assessed by a doctor
- Your symptoms are at a moderate level based on a standard mental health questionnaire (confirm with trial site)
- You feel you need help and support, even if you are currently on a waiting list
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You are not willing or able to give your consent to participate
- You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, a degenerative brain condition, or significant memory or thinking difficulties
- You are currently using psychoactive substances or alcohol
- You are currently at serious risk of suicide
- You are currently receiving psychotherapy, or have received it within the last 3 months
- You are currently taking psychiatric medication (this will be decided by the therapist during the initial screening)
- You are currently receiving inpatient treatment (staying in a hospital or care facility)
- You have not completed all the required screening questionnaires
