Who might be able to join this trial:

For the BRIDGE Therapy Group (for mothers experiencing depression):

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You identify as a mother of a child between 3 and 7 years old
  • You currently live in Quebec, Ontario, or Manitoba
  • You are fluent in English
  • You are currently experiencing mild to moderate depression symptoms that are somewhat affecting your daily life, and you also had symptoms of depression during pregnancy or shortly after your baby was born
  • Your child has been identified as having attention and/or behaviour problems, either through a standardised assessment or a clinical interview
  • You are able to attend weekly group therapy sessions

For the Control Group (for mothers without depression):

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You identify as a mother of a child between 3 and 7 years old
  • You currently live in Quebec, Ontario, or Manitoba
  • You are fluent in English or speak more than one language
  • You do not have significant symptoms of depression
  • Your child does not have attention and/or behaviour problems

Who may not be able to join:

  • Anyone who does not meet the criteria listed above for the group they are applying to
  • Mothers in the BRIDGE Therapy Group who are unable to attend the weekly group therapy sessions
  • Anyone who, after a more detailed interview with the research team, is found not to meet the mental health or child behaviour requirements for their group (confirm with trial site)
