Who may be able to join
- People who have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC), or have had suspected UC symptoms for at least 3 months before joining, with the diagnosis confirmed by camera examination of the bowel (endoscopy) and tissue sample testing during the screening process.
- People whose UC is currently active, shown by a specific disease activity score (called a modified Mayo score) of 5 to 9 points, including having frequent loose stools, rectal bleeding, and visible inflammation seen on endoscopy.
- People whose bowel inflammation extends at least 15cm from the opening of the back passage, confirmed by endoscopy during screening.
- People who are currently taking certain UC medications (5-ASA or low-dose oral steroids) and are able to keep the same dose stable from 2 weeks before joining until the end of the study.
- People who have either never received a biologic treatment, or whose last biologic treatment ended more than a certain time ago (confirm with trial site for exact timing).

- People who have been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, indeterminate colitis, severe UC requiring hospitalisation or high-dose steroid treatment, ulcerative proctitis, fulminant colitis, ischemic colitis, or other bowel diseases.
- People who have previously tried 2 or more types of advanced UC treatments (such as biologic injections or certain tablets like JAK inhibitors), where all of those treatments were considered by the doctor to have failed.
