Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged over 60 years old, both men and women
  • People who have been diagnosed with bowel cancer (colon or rectal cancer) confirmed by a tissue test (biopsy)
  • People whose cancer has spread or cannot be removed by surgery, and who have already tried two or more chemotherapy treatments, or who could not tolerate their most recent chemotherapy
  • People with or without tumour areas that can be measured on scans

  • People whose blood counts and organ function results (such as liver, kidneys, and blood cells) meet the levels required to safely receive the treatment

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have cancer that has spread to the brain or nervous system and is causing symptoms
  • People who have another separate type of cancer (other than the bowel cancer being studied)
  • People with other serious health conditions that are not well controlled, such as high blood pressure, blood clotting disorders, or chronic kidney disease
  • People whose organ function is not at a level that would allow them to safely receive the study treatment
  • People who have a bowel blockage or any other condition that affects their ability to swallow or absorb oral (by mouth) medication
  • People who have had an allergic reaction to the medication being studied
  • People who, in the opinion of the trial doctors, are otherwise not suitable to participate for any other reason
