Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are 18 years of age or older at the time of screening
• You are willing and able to follow all study procedures, including completing a study diary at least 70% of the time over a 2-week period
• You have been diagnosed with carcinoid syndrome that needs medical treatment, and you experience flushing episodes (with or without frequent bowel movements) — specifically, more than 1 flushing episode per day on average over 14 days (either without current treatment, or during a washout period if coming off existing treatment)
• You have confirmed advanced or metastatic well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (a type of slow-growing cancer) supported by documented test results
• Your disease has not significantly worsened in the 6 months before joining the trial, as assessed by the study doctor

Who may not be able to join:

• Your diarrhea is caused by something other than carcinoid syndrome
• You have severe, uncontrolled diarrhea that has led to serious dehydration or low blood pressure
• In your doctor's opinion, you need additional or second-line treatments to manage your carcinoid syndrome symptoms
• You have received certain specific cancer treatments (such as everolimus or sunitinib) within 4 weeks before screening, or liver embolization, radiation therapy, targeted radiation (PRRT), or tumor removal surgery within 12 weeks before screening
• You have had major surgery within 8 weeks before screening
• You have had another type of cancer within the last 3 years (with some exceptions for certain treated skin cancers, fully removed breast cancer, cervical pre-cancer, or other cancers fully treated at least 3 years ago with no current signs of disease — confirm with trial site)
• You have been using insulin to treat diabetes for less than 6 weeks before joining the study
• You have poorly controlled diabetes, shown by a blood sugar control test result (HbA1c) of 8.5% or higher
• You are unable to use short-acting octreotide injections, or you have previously tried somatostatin-type medications and they did not work for you
• You have other significant health conditions not related to your primary diagnosis, such as serious heart disease, poor kidney function, or abnormal liver test results (confirm with trial site)
• You currently use or abuse alcohol or drugs
• You have been diagnosed with gallstones that are causing symptoms
