Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are pregnant with a single baby (not twins or more).
- People who are between 24 weeks and 29 weeks and 6 days pregnant at the time of joining the trial.
- People who have been diagnosed with severe early-onset pre-eclampsia (a serious pregnancy complication involving high blood pressure) where the treating doctors have determined that immediate delivery is not yet necessary.
- And/or people whose baby has been diagnosed with early-onset poor growth in the womb (where the baby is growing too slowly), based on specific ultrasound measurements of blood flow and/or estimated baby weight falling below a certain threshold.
- People who are able to give informed consent to participate.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose own health or their baby's health has already reached a point where immediate delivery is required.
- People whose baby has been found to have an abnormal number of chromosomes, a structural abnormality, or an infection present from birth.
- People who are already taking pravastatin or any other statin medication at the time of joining the trial.
- People who have lactose intolerance.
