Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 years or older
- People who have given written agreement to take part in the study
- People who are being seen as outpatients or are admitted to a participating research centre
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not wish to take part in the study
- People whose ECG (heart tracing) recording comes out too poor in quality to be useful on the single-channel monitor used in the study
- People whose heart cannot be clearly seen during an ultrasound (echocardiography) examination
- People who experience a sudden acute mental health episode (psychotic reaction) during the course of the study
- People whose long-term (chronic) health condition flares up in a way that requires a change in their treatment and prevents them from continuing in the study
- People with conditions that may interfere with ECG recording quality, such as Parkinson's disease or essential tremor (uncontrolled shaking)
- People with a diagnosed mental illness
- People who have a pacemaker fitted
- People who have an artificial (prosthetic) heart valve
