Who may be able to join
- People who are 18 years of age or older at the time of signing the consent form.
- People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls within a specific range on a standard medical scale (a score of 0 or 1 on the ECOG scale, measured within 7 days before treatment starts).
- People who have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) confirmed through tissue or cell testing.
- People whose cancer tests negative for certain specific genetic changes (no EGFR exon 19 deletion or exon 21 L858R mutation, and no ALK gene fusion).
- People whose cancer tests positive for a protein called PD-L1, with at least 1% of tumor cells showing this protein (confirmed by a specific lab test).
- People who have not previously had any local treatment (such as surgery or radiation) or any systemic cancer treatment (such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, cell therapy, traditional Chinese medicine-based cancer treatments, or any experimental therapies) for their NSCLC.
- People whose cancer has been assessed by a specialist team (MDT) as being at a resectable stage II to IIIB, based on a standard cancer staging system.
- People who have at least one tumor that can be measured according to standard imaging criteria (RECIST 1.1).
- People who are willing to undergo surgery with the aim of curing their cancer.
- People whose surgeon has confirmed that the tumor can be surgically removed and that there are no medical reasons preventing surgery.
- People whose blood, liver, kidney, and clotting levels meet specific health thresholds — without having received blood transfusions or certain blood-boosting medications in the two weeks before the first dose — including: sufficient white blood cell, platelet, and haemoglobin levels; liver enzyme and bilirubin levels within acceptable ranges; adequate kidney function; normal blood clotting measures; and a heart pumping function of at least 50% as measured by a heart scan.
- Women who could become pregnant, and men who could father a child, who agree to use effective contraception from the time of signing the consent form until 6 months after the last dose.
- People who voluntarily agree to participate, sign the consent form, and are able to attend study visits and follow the study procedures.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose tumor is found to contain small cell lung cancer, neuroendocrine carcinoma, or carcinosarcoma components on testing.
- People who have previously been treated with certain immune checkpoint therapies (such as anti-PD-1, anti-PD-L1, anti-PD-L2, or anti-CTLA-4 antibodies, or similar medications that target immune cell pathways).
- People who have previously been treated with therapies targeting a protein called TROP2, or with a type of chemotherapy called topoisomerase I inhibitors.
- People who need to take certain medications known as strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers within 2 weeks before the first dose or at any point during the study — this also includes certain herbal supplements or foods that may affect this enzyme pathway (confirm with trial site for the specific list).
- People who have had another type of cancer in the past 5 years, except for certain cancers that have been fully cured, such as cervical carcinoma in situ, basal cell carcinoma, or squamous cell skin cancer.
- People with a known allergy to the study drugs or their ingredients, a known immune deficiency condition, or a history of organ transplantation.
- People with a history of, or currently active, a lung inflammation condition called interstitial lung disease (ILD) or non-infectious pneumonia (including if suspected on scans and unable to be ruled out); or people with significant lung problems from other conditions, such as a blood clot in the lung within the past 3 months, severe asthma, severe COPD, restrictive lung disease, fluid around the lungs, certain autoimmune or inflammatory conditions that can affect the lungs (such as rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome, or sarcoidosis), or prior removal of an entire lung.
- People with active autoimmune diseases that have required systemic (whole-body) treatment within the past two years — noting that hormone replacement therapy and certain specific hormone conditions managed with replacement doses alone are generally not counted as systemic treatment for this purpose (confirm with trial site).
- People who have an active infection requiring systemic treatment within 2 weeks before the first dose.
- People with active hepatitis B (based on specific blood test results above defined thresholds) or active hepatitis C (based on positive antibody and detectable virus levels) — noting that people who test positive for hepatitis B surface antigen must receive anti-hepatitis B treatment during the study.
- People who test positive for HIV, have a history of AIDS, or have a known active syphilis infection.
- People who have other serious ongoing health conditions that the trial doctor judges could put them at significant risk or interfere with completing the study, including blood pressure not controlled by medication, severe diabetes, or active infections.
- People with a documented history of severe dry eye syndrome, severe eyelid or oil gland disorders, or corneal conditions associated with poor healing.
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who have any other condition that the trial doctor believes could interfere with assessing the study drug, affect safety, or make participation in the study unsuitable.
