Who may be able to join

  • People who are between 18 and 75 years old at the time of joining the trial.
  • People who have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (a common type of lung cancer) confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue or cell samples, at a stage ranging from stage II to stage IV.
  • People whose tissue slide images meet the quality requirements and can be reviewed through a specific computer system called KindMED (DeepGEM).
  • People whose tumour tissue has been successfully analysed by the DeepGEM artificial intelligence tool to predict changes in specific genes (EGFR, ALK, or ROS1).
  • People who have not previously received any systemic cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy.
  • People who are willing and able to follow all study requirements, attend follow-up visits, and provide written consent to participate.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who have previously received any systemic cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy (such as certain antibody or kinase-blocking medicines), before joining the trial.
  • People whose tissue slide images do not meet the required quality standards, or whose DeepGEM analysis was unsuccessful.
  • People who have had another type of cancer within the past 5 years, with the exception of certain treated skin cancers or early-stage non-invasive cancers (confirm with trial site).
  • People who have cognitive or psychological difficulties that may prevent them from understanding or accepting AI-based testing or genetic analysis.
  • Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or who could become pregnant and are not using effective contraception.
  • People with any other health condition that, in the opinion of the trial doctors, could interfere with the study or put the participant at risk.
