Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are able to give written consent and are willing to follow the study procedures
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of mesothelioma (epithelioid pleural mesothelioma) confirmed by a tissue test, at a stage that is currently considered inoperable (not suitable for surgery) but may become operable after initial treatment
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are in good general health and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (as measured by a standard health scale)
- You are healthy enough to receive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and surgery based on your doctor's assessment
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must use effective contraception during the trial; if you are a man, you must use a condom to prevent pregnancy in a female partner
Who may not be able to join:
- Your mesothelioma is either at an early stage already suitable for surgery, or at a very advanced stage where surgery would not become possible even after initial treatment
- You have cancer that has spread to the other side of the chest or to other parts of the body (detected by a PET scan or CT scan)
- You are not well enough to receive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or chest surgery — this includes people with active autoimmune diseases, a history of spleen removal, an active infection requiring antibiotics, long-term infections such as HIV or hepatitis B or C, or serious heart disease
- You have a known allergy or serious reaction to any of the medications used in this trial (including platinum-based drugs, pemetrexed, ipilimumab, or nivolumab)
- You have another active cancer, other than a common type of skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) or early-stage cervical changes, or you have cancer that has spread to the brain
- You have previously received chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation to the chest, or surgery (other than a keyhole procedure to diagnose your condition)
- You have significant difficulties with mental health, personal, family, social, or practical circumstances that your doctor feels could make it hard to follow the study requirements (confirm with trial site)

To assess the percentage of successful completion of a neoadjuvant double chemotherapy / double immunotherapy regimen followed by surgery in a selected group of T2-T3 (according to TNM 9) patients with pleural mesothelioma.
