Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are having a specific type of pancreatic surgery (called a pancreaticoduodenectomy) with the goal of fully removing a cancerous growth, in line with standard medical guidelines.
- People whose pancreas tissue has a soft texture (as assessed by the surgical team).
- People whose main pancreatic duct is narrow (less than 3 mm in diameter, as measured by the surgical team).

- People who have an active infection at or near the surgical site.
- People who have uncontrolled bleeding or clotting problems.
- People who are considered too unwell for surgery due to a serious medical condition.
- People whose cancer has already spread to distant parts of the body, such as the lining of the abdomen, liver, distant lymph nodes, or other organs.
- People whose tumour is found to be unable to be surgically removed during an initial keyhole examination (diagnostic laparoscopy).
- People who require a different type of pancreatic surgery, or surgery aimed only at relieving symptoms rather than curing the condition.
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who have a serious mental health condition.
- People whose cancer has grown into nearby blood vessels in a way that would require those vessels to be surgically removed.
- People who have chosen not to participate in the study.
