Who might be able to join this trial:

- Men and women aged 60 or older
- People whose average blood pressure reading (top number) taken at a clinic or doctor's office is 130 mmHg or higher

- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes
- People who take insulin or other diabetes medications
- People who have had unstable chest pain, a heart attack, or a stroke in the past 3 months
- People who continuously use supplemental oxygen to manage a long-term lung condition or heart failure
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson's disease, or who are currently on dialysis (a kidney treatment)
- People who currently have a major psychiatric (mental health) condition that would make it difficult to take part in the study
- People with severe digestive disease, a history of major digestive surgery, or active gallstone disease
- People who have received cancer treatment in the past year
- People whose medications cannot be taken more than 12 hours apart without food, which would make 16-hour fasting difficult or unsafe (confirm with trial site)
