Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 75 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue samples
- People whose cancer has been clearly staged through scans or tissue testing, either with spread to distant parts of the body (stage M1) or without distant spread (stage M0)
- People who are expected to live for at least 3 months
- People who are willing to take part and have signed a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have used probiotics, antibiotics, or immune-suppressing medications in the month before surgery
- People who have a complete blockage of the bowel or a hole in the digestive tract before surgery
- People in whom a hole in the digestive tract or a tumour rupture occurred during surgery
- People who have previously had surgery on the digestive system (other than colorectal cancer surgery, appendix removal, or gallbladder removal), or who have a serious ongoing digestive condition such as inflammatory bowel disease
- People who currently have an active immune system condition or serious infection, such as severe allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, viral hepatitis, or HIV/AIDS
- People who currently have another active cancer that has not been treated or resolved
- People with serious problems affecting the function of major organs
- People considered unsuitable for the trial for other reasons, as determined by the trial doctor (confirm with trial site)
