Who may be able to join
- The person joining the trial, or their legal guardian, must be willing and able to provide written consent to participate.
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older (there is no upper age limit); both men and women are eligible.
- Participants must have a laboratory-confirmed diagnosis of non-small-cell lung cancer (a specific type of lung cancer) that has been classified as an early stage (Stage IA to IIA), meaning the cancer is small and has not spread to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body.
- The tumour must be located in the outer part of the lung, at least 2 cm away from the central airways and surrounding chest structures.
- Participants must either have been assessed by doctors as not being healthy enough to safely undergo surgery (for example, due to very poor lung or heart function), or have chosen not to have surgery.
- Participants must have a general health and activity level that falls within a certain range, meaning they are able to care for themselves and carry out some daily activities, even if they cannot do heavy physical work (confirm with trial site what this means for a specific situation).
- The treating doctor must judge that the participant is expected to live for at least 6 months.
- The cancer must be detectable and measurable on standard imaging scans.
- Participants must have blood, liver, and kidney function results that are within acceptable ranges according to the trial site's standards.
- Participants must be willing and able to attend all required study visits, scans, and follow-up appointments.
- Women who could become pregnant, and men who could father a child, must agree to use effective contraception for 12 months after completing the radiation treatment used in this trial.

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have previously received radiotherapy to the chest, chemotherapy, targeted drug therapy, or surgery for lung cancer.
- People who have evidence that the cancer has spread to other lymph nodes or other parts of the body.
- People who have had another cancer within the past 5 years, with the exception of certain treated skin cancers or a very early-stage cervical condition that has been adequately treated.
- People who currently have active inflammation or scarring of the lungs, whether caused by a medical condition, previous radiation, or medication.
- People who are pregnant, currently breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
- People who are already taking part in another clinical trial that has not yet reached its main research goal.
- People who have a known psychiatric condition, substance use issue, or any other condition that may make it difficult to follow the trial requirements.
- People for whom contrast-enhanced CT or PET-CT scans (specific types of imaging used in this trial) are not safe or suitable.
- People whom the trial investigator determines have medical, personal, or psychological circumstances that could affect their safety or the reliability of the trial results.
