Who may be able to join
- Adults between 18 and 75 years of age (any sex).
- People with a laboratory-confirmed diagnosis of advanced (stage III or IV) non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (a specific type of lung cancer) that cannot be surgically removed, as determined by a specialist medical team.
- People whose lung cancer tests negative for two specific genetic changes known as EGFR mutation and ALK rearrangement.
- People whose lung cancer shows no signs of being, or having changed into, a type called small cell lung cancer.
- People who have not yet received any cancer treatment.
- People who are generally well enough to carry out daily activities, as measured by a standard medical scoring tool (a score of 0 or 1 on the ECOG scale).
- People whose life expectancy is estimated to be at least 6 months.
- People whose main tumour measures at least 1 cm across and who have at least one measurable area of cancer remaining after any previous surgery, assessed using standard measurement guidelines.
- People whose blood counts meet minimum levels: enough neutrophils (a type of white blood cell), platelets, and haemoglobin (confirm specific values with trial site).
- People whose liver function test results are within acceptable ranges, with slightly higher limits allowed if liver spread is present (confirm specific values with trial site).
- People whose kidney function results are within acceptable ranges, based on either a blood test or a calculated kidney function score (confirm specific values with trial site).
- People whose lung function meets at least one of the following: a breathing test result (FEV1) of at least 1.2 litres or 40% of the expected value; a ratio of two breathing measurements (FEV1/FVC) of at least 0.7; a carbon monoxide diffusion test result of at least 40% of the expected value; or, if breathing results fall below these levels, additional lung function tests such as a perfusion scan or exercise test may be used to assess suitability (confirm with trial site).
- People who have been assessed by the study medical team and confirmed to be well enough to undergo surgery to remove the main tumour.
- People who are willing to follow the study plan and have given written consent to participate.
Who may not be able to join

- People who are pregnant.
- People with a serious, uncontrolled, or unstable health condition that the investigating doctor believes could interfere with participation or affect the study results, including uncontrolled seizures, psychiatric disorders, active or uncontrolled infections, or other significant conditions or abnormal test results.
