Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who score 10 or higher on a depression screening questionnaire (PHQ-9), or 8 or higher on an anxiety screening questionnaire (GAD-7)
- People who have access to the internet through a smartphone or home broadband, and either have basic comfort using technology or are willing to receive a short training session
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who prefer to receive their medical care in Spanish
- People who are not currently in psychotherapy (talk therapy)
- People who are currently taking antidepressant medication, provided the dose has been stable for at least 6 weeks and there are no plans to change it
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently receiving psychotherapy (talk therapy) — though the trial may allow referral to such treatment after joining, which would be tracked as part of the study
- People with vision, hearing, voice, or movement difficulties, or who have difficulty reading, that would prevent them from completing the study activities
- People who have a diagnosis of a psychotic disorder, bipolar disorder, dissociative disorder, or a substance use disorder
- People assessed as having severe suicidal thoughts, including having a specific plan and intention — these individuals would be directed to more intensive care resources by the trial team
