Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (a serious form of depression) without any psychotic features, confirmed through a clinical assessment and a structured psychiatric interview.
- People who are currently having thoughts of suicide with some level of intent, as confirmed through specific questions in a structured psychiatric interview.
- People whose depression and suicidal thoughts score above a certain level on a standard depression rating scale, measured before the first dose on Day 1.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a current diagnosis of bipolar disorder (or a related condition), antisocial personality disorder, or obsessive-compulsive disorder.
- People who currently have a clinical diagnosis of autism, dementia, or intellectual disability.
- People who have ever been diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, or with depression that included psychotic features.
- People who have had a moderate or severe problem with substance or alcohol use in the 6 months before screening.
- People who have ever been diagnosed with treatment-resistant depression (depression that has not responded to multiple treatments).
- People who have nasal conditions or diseases that, in the investigator's judgment, may affect how a nasal medication is delivered or absorbed.
- People who have had a cancer diagnosis within the 5 years before screening.
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or who have a positive pregnancy test result during screening.
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial and received an investigational (trial) drug within 3 months before the first dose.
