Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 80 years who have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, with blood sugar levels that are reasonably controlled (a specific blood test result, HbA1c, at or below 10%)

Who may not be able to join:
- People currently using certain wound therapies, specifically negative pressure wound therapy (a vacuum-assisted wound dressing) or maggot debridement therapy (a treatment using specially prepared larvae)
- People who are currently on dialysis due to severely reduced kidney function
- People currently using antibiotic creams or ointments applied directly to the wound that have a known effect on wound biology
- People currently using a wound treatment called platelet-rich fibrin (PRF)
- Women who could become pregnant and are not using reliable contraception, or women who are currently breastfeeding
- People with serious health conditions affecting other organs, where life expectancy is estimated to be less than 6 months
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial in the past 3 months, or who are currently enrolled in another clinical study
- People whom the trial investigators consider unsuitable for participation for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
