Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 20 and 75 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with cervical radiculopathy (a condition where a nerve in the neck is compressed or irritated, causing symptoms in the arm)
- People whose symptoms include neck pain or tingling/numbness that travels down one arm in a specific pattern
- People who have tested positive on two specific physical examination tests used to assess nerve compression in the neck (called Spurling's test and the cervical distraction test)
- People whose symptoms have been present for more than 6 weeks
- People whose arm pain rates at least 4 out of 10 on a standard pain scale
- People whose nerve compression has been confirmed by an MRI or CT scan that matches their symptoms
- People who are able to give written consent and follow the study procedures
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously had surgery on the neck/cervical spine
- People who have muscle weakness in the affected arm
- People whose pain is only in the neck itself, without any symptoms travelling down the arm
- People whose symptoms appear to come from the shoulder, elbow, or wrist, or who have other musculoskeletal conditions such as rheumatoid disease or carpal tunnel syndrome
- People with signs of a serious underlying condition, such as a tumour, infection, bone fracture, or spinal cord involvement
- People who have received an epidural steroid injection or a procedure called pulsed radiofrequency therapy within the past 6 months
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with a history of epilepsy or who have an electronic device implanted in their body (such as a pacemaker)
- People who have an active infection or skin condition at the area where a stimulator patch would be placed
- People with a known allergy to electrode patches
- People who are unable to understand the study procedures or provide written consent
