Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 21 years of age or older
- People who have had a specific implanted device (called an HGNS device) placed to treat obstructive sleep apnea, and who are followed up at UCSF Health
- People who are willing to temporarily stop using their upper airway stimulation device for no more than two days in a row, as directed, during the 14-day trial period
- People who are able and willing to sign a written consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently pregnant or trying to become pregnant
- People who are currently taking certain heart rhythm medications known as class 1 or class 3 anti-arrhythmic drugs (confirm with trial site if unsure whether a current medication falls into these categories)
- People who have a permanent irregular heart rhythm condition called atrial fibrillation (AF), or who are expected to have it continuously throughout the study
- People who have a heart condition that was present from birth (congenital heart disease)
- People whose heart relies on a pacemaker to control the lower chambers of the heart more than 40% of the time
- People who are unable to read or sign a consent form
