Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are willing and able to give written consent to participate.
• People aged 18 to 65 years (male or female).
• People who have a current diagnosis of social anxiety disorder.
• People whose social anxiety symptoms score at least 60 on a standard medical rating scale called the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale.
• People whose fear of public speaking scores at least 60 on a standard rating scale called the Public Speaking Anxiety Scale.
• People whose depression symptoms score 18 or below on a standard rating scale called the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have attempted suicide or had thoughts of suicide in the past 2 years, or who the trial doctor considers to be currently at risk of suicide.
• People with a history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, seizures, delusional disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or autism spectrum disorder.
• People who have had post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or an eating disorder in the past 6 months.
• People who have had a substance or alcohol use disorder in the past 6 months, or who test positive in a drug or alcohol screening.
• People who have received any form of talking therapy (psychotherapy) in the past 6 months.
• People who have taken any medications that affect mood or mental health in the past 2 months.
• People who are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding during the trial period.
• People whom the trial doctor considers unsuitable for any other reason related to safety or the goals of the trial.
