Who might be able to join this trial:

• Be between 10 and 17 years old
• Have been diagnosed with stage 3 Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), meaning blood sugar levels are high enough to meet standard diabetes diagnosis guidelines
• Be able to start the study treatment within 21 days of their diabetes diagnosis (counting from the first insulin dose)
• Have lung function test results showing the lungs are working at more than 80% of the expected level for their age and size
• Be someone the study doctor believes can follow the study rules and schedule
• Have no health conditions, mental health conditions, or current medications that the study doctor thinks would make participation unsafe

Who may not be able to join:

• Have already received insulin treatment for an earlier stage (stage 2) of Type 1 Diabetes
• Have a history of ongoing lung conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, cystic fibrosis, or other significant lung diseases (confirm with trial site)
• Have an allergy or known reaction to human regular insulin
• Have smoked or vaped (including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, or marijuana) in the 3 months before screening, or test positive for a substance that shows recent smoking
• Have a positive pregnancy test, if female and able to become pregnant
