Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with metastatic colorectal cancer (cancer that started in the colon or rectum and has spread to other parts of the body), confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue samples.
  • People who have already received treatment with a therapy targeting EGFR (such as cetuximab or panitumumab) or a therapy targeting VEGF (such as bevacizumab), which are specific types of cancer-fighting medications.
  • People for whom a blood sample taken before treatment is available, so that a specific type of genetic material from the blood (called cfDNA) can be analysed.
  • People who have had their cancer measured and assessed using standard imaging scans, following a recognised set of guidelines called RECIST 1.1.
  • People whose cancer has already been tested to determine whether certain gene changes (in genes called RAS and BRAF) are present or absent.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose blood sample does not contain enough usable cfDNA, or where the quality of the cfDNA is too poor for analysis.
  • People whose cancer type is not classified as adenocarcinoma (a specific type of cancer affecting glandular cells).
  • People who have, or have previously had, another active cancer at the same time.
  • People who have an active inflammatory or autoimmune condition (where the immune system is overactive or attacks the body) that could affect the cfDNA results used in this trial.
