Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with moderate to severe open-angle glaucoma (including common types such as primary open-angle glaucoma, pigmentary glaucoma, or pseudoexfoliation glaucoma)
  • The drainage angle in your eye is open and has a normal structure (confirm with trial site)
  • You can see at least hand movements (being able to tell when a hand is waved in front of your eye), or better
  • Your visual field (side/peripheral vision) test shows a significant level of vision loss meeting a specific measurement threshold (confirm with trial site)
  • Eye drop medications and/or laser treatments have not worked well enough to control your glaucoma
  • Your eye doctor has decided that surgery is the recommended next step for your glaucoma treatment
  • Your eye's natural lens is still in place, OR you have previously had cataract surgery and have an artificial lens

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your glaucoma was caused by an eye injury, inflammation, abnormal blood vessel growth, or your drainage angle is closed rather than open
  • You have had a previous surgical operation for glaucoma (not including laser treatments)
  • You have had certain laser eye procedures (ALT, iridotomy, SLT, or micropulse laser trabeculoplasty) within the last 90 days
  • You currently have active inflammation or swelling in your eye, or a significant corneal disease affecting the front surface of your eye
  • You have a condition affecting your cornea or another eye problem that would make standard eye pressure measurements unreliable (confirm with trial site)
