Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are scheduled to have a specific type of pancreas surgery (called a pancreaticoduodenectomy) with the goal of curing a cancerous growth, following standard medical guidelines.
- Your pancreas tissue has a soft texture (confirmed during surgery).
- The main tube inside your pancreas (the pancreatic duct) is narrow — less than 3 mm wide.
- You are willing and able to give your written agreement to take part in the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a known allergy or sensitivity to cyanoacrylate (a type of surgical glue) or a substance called Lipiodol®.
- Your pancreas tissue is found to be very hard or scarred (fibrotic) during surgery.
- You have significant inflammation of the part of the pancreas that would remain after surgery.
- You have an active infection in the area where the surgery would take place.
- You have a blood clotting problem that is not under control.
- You are considered too unwell overall to safely undergo surgery due to a serious health condition.
- Your cancer has already spread to other parts of the body, such as the liver, the lining of the abdomen, distant lymph nodes, or other organs.
- It is found during a keyhole examination before surgery that your tumor cannot be removed.
- You need a different type of pancreas surgery, such as removal of the left, central, or whole pancreas, or surgery aimed only at relieving symptoms rather than curing the disease.
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have a serious mental health condition.
- Your cancer has grown into nearby blood vessels in a way that would require those vessels to be removed or repaired during surgery.
- You do not wish to take part in the study.
