Who might be able to join this trial:
- The patient, or their family member on their behalf, must agree to take part and sign a consent form
- Adults aged 18 to 75 years, of any gender
- People who have been confirmed through a tissue biopsy to have locally advanced rectal cancer (a specific type called adenocarcinoma)
- People whose tumour is located within 10 cm of the opening of the back passage
- People who are generally well enough to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site for exact fitness level required)
- People who have not yet received any treatment for their rectal cancer, including radiation, chemotherapy, or surgery

Who may not be able to join:

- People who have previously received any type of immunotherapy treatment, such as immune checkpoint drugs, immune cell therapies, or similar treatments that work through the immune system
- People who have another illness, health condition, substance use history, or other concern that the trial doctor believes could affect their safety, their ability to give informed consent, or the reliability of the trial results
