Who may be able to join
- People who have at least one medical or pharmacy insurance claim for an approved advanced medical treatment for ulcerative colitis (a type of inflammatory bowel disease), filed on or after the date that treatment was officially approved by the FDA.

- People who have diagnosis records for both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease may still be included — the condition recorded closest to the study start date will be used to place them into either the ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease group.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have any record of having used an approved advanced medical treatment during the lead-up period before the study start date.
- People who have at least two recorded diagnosis codes for certain other conditions — including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, plaque psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, non-infectious uveitis, or psoriatic arthritis — during the lead-up period before the study start date.
- People who have two or more recorded diagnosis codes for a non-skin cancer during the lead-up period before the study start date.
