Who might be able to join this trial:
For Aims 1–3 of the trial:
- Adults between 18 and 65 years of age
- People who can speak, read, and write fluently in English
- People who are willing and able to follow the study procedures and give their formal agreement to participate

- People who have been diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

Who may not be able to join:
For Aims 1–3 of the trial:
- People with a past or current neurological or psychiatric condition, or who take medication for one
- People with high blood pressure or a heart condition
- People with diabetes, food allergies, metabolic disorders, or a history of an eating disorder
- People who currently use corticosteroid or beta-blocker medications
- People who are pregnant
For Aim 4 of the trial:
- People with high blood pressure or a heart condition
- People with diabetes, food allergies, metabolic disorders, or a history of an eating disorder
- People who currently use corticosteroid or beta-blocker medications
- People with a lifetime history of bipolar disorder or a psychotic disorder; a substance use disorder in the past 3 months; an eating disorder in the past 6 months; or a current major depressive episode
- People with active thoughts of suicide that include a plan and intention to act on it (confirm with trial site)
- People who have not been on a stable dose of psychiatric medication for at least 4 weeks before the study begins
- People who are pregnant
