Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People of any sex, gender, race, or ethnic background are welcome to be considered
- People who have a suspicious or confirmed pancreatic lesion (abnormal growth or area) for which a surgeon has determined that surgery is needed, either to identify what it is or to treat it
- People whose condition means they are being considered for a specific type of pancreatic surgery (removal of part or all of the pancreas)
- People whose surgeon has reviewed their medical history, scans, and the size and location of their tumor to confirm that a small research device could be placed during surgery
- People who are able to read, understand, and sign consent forms agreeing to both the surgery and the research study, before any procedures take place
- Women of childbearing age must have a negative blood pregnancy test within 48 hours before surgery
- People of childbearing potential must agree to use effective contraception starting before the first day of treatment and continuing for 30 days after the research device is placed; people who are breastfeeding must agree to stop breastfeeding for 14 days after the device is inserted
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose tumor is located in a position where the surgeon determines the research device cannot be safely placed before the tumor is removed
- People who are pregnant at the time of joining the trial or at the time of surgery, due to known risks of the medications involved
- People who have had, or currently have, a second separate cancer whose history or treatment could affect the safety of the study or make it harder to measure results accurately
- People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic) or has grown extensively into surrounding areas (locally advanced), as seen on baseline scans
