Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has been confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy), and the cancer has not spread to distant parts of the body
  • You are not able to have surgery or standard chemotherapy — either because of your general health or frailty level, because you have other serious health conditions that make standard treatment too risky, or because you have chosen not to have surgery or chemotherapy after being fully informed of your options
  • You are 19 years of age or older
  • You are able and willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
  • You are eligible for and willing to receive a special type of radiation treatment called carbon ion radiotherapy

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are under 19 years of age
  • Scans (such as CT, MRI, or PET-CT) taken at the start of the study show that your cancer has already spread to distant parts of the body
  • You currently have an active or uncontrolled infection that could interfere with treatment
  • You have active bleeding or a bleeding problem that needs immediate medical attention
  • You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
  • You have any other condition that the trial doctor believes would make it unsafe or unsuitable for you to take part — for example, severe problems with how your organs are working that would prevent you from having radiotherapy (confirm with trial site)
  • You are unable to follow the study procedures or attend the required follow-up appointments
