Who may be able to join

  • People who have an established diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), either Ulcerative Colitis (UC) or Crohn's Disease (CD).
  • People whose bowel disease is currently active, meaning it shows at least mild activity based on recognised scoring measures, or a stool test result showing a calprotectin level above 60 µg/g (a marker of bowel inflammation).
  • People whose treating doctor considers them suitable candidates for treatment with adalimumab or risankizumab (confirm with trial site).
  • People who are 18 years of age or older.
  • People who are willing and able to provide written consent to participate.
  • People who have a clinical reason to undergo an endoscopy procedure.
  • Women who could potentially become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test result (either urine or blood) available before participating.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • Women who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Women of premenopausal age who are not using a reliable form of contraception at the time the study imaging agents (adalimumab-680LT and/or risankizumab 800CW) are administered.
  • People who have a medical or psychiatric condition that affects their ability to give informed consent.
  • People who have previously received a therapy that specifically targets the IL-23 pathway (note: combination therapies targeting both IL-23 and IL-12 are not excluded — confirm with trial site).
  • People who have received an anti-TNFα therapy within the 6 weeks before joining the trial.
  • People who have previously been treated with adalimumab and have detectable antibodies against it in their system.
