- You are between 18 and 75 years old

Who may not be able to join:

- You have had a bad reaction or intolerance to certain blood pressure medications in the past, such as a persistent cough or facial swelling from ACE inhibitors, salt imbalances from water pills, or significant leg swelling or headaches from calcium channel blockers
- You absolutely need to take a specific type of blood pressure medication called a beta-blocker or a mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist
- Your clinic blood pressure reading is extremely high, at or above 220/120 mmHg
- Your heart's pumping function is below a certain level, as shown on a heart scan (confirm with trial site)
- Your kidneys are not working well enough (confirm with trial site for specific values)
- You have an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter
- You are currently taking blood-thinning medication (anticoagulants) by mouth
- You have a significant problem with one or more of your heart valves
- Your body mass index (a measure of weight relative to height) is 40 or above
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- You have a serious psychiatric (mental health) condition
- You have an active cancer with a life expectancy of less than 2 years
