Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Mothers or birthing parents who are 18 years of age or older and whose baby is between 0 and 12 months old
  • People whose primary diagnosis is an anxiety disorder, as confirmed by a specific diagnostic tool called the DART, with or without depression as well
  • People who are not currently receiving any other psychological therapy or counselling
  • People who are either not taking any psychiatric medications, or whose psychiatric medication type and dose has remained unchanged for at least 8 weeks before the study and will stay the same throughout the study
  • People who are fluent in English and have at least a Grade 8 reading level

Who may not be able to join:

  • People experiencing severe depression or thoughts of suicide that require immediate care
  • People who have a psychotic disorder, or a current alcohol or substance use disorder
  • People who experience severe claustrophobia (intense fear of enclosed spaces)
  • People who have metal objects in their body, such as metal implants or a pacemaker
  • People who are currently pregnant
