Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 50 and 75 years old
  • You are male or female
  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes by a doctor
  • You have scored 4 or higher on a questionnaire called the DN4, which is used to assess nerve pain (confirm with trial site)
  • You are able to complete a simple "stand up and walk" test in less than 15 seconds (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have other serious health conditions besides diabetes, such as kidney failure, poorly controlled high blood pressure, severe cholesterol problems, chronic liver disease, autoimmune conditions, or advanced lung disease
  • You currently have a documented problem with alcohol or drug misuse
  • You have had part or all of one or both legs amputated
  • You are severely obese or currently pregnant (based on self-reporting)
  • You have an active inflammation or a nerve condition that is not related to diabetes, such as nerve damage from chemotherapy, certain immune-related nerve diseases, nerve damage caused by vitamin B12 deficiency, or other nerve conditions not linked to diabetes
