Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older (male or female)
- People who have stopped taking a proton pump inhibitor (a type of stomach acid-reducing medication) after using it daily for at least 8 weeks, where that medication was no longer considered necessary based on current medical guidelines — for example, people who were taking it for irritable bowel syndrome, mild reflux symptoms, or as part of taking multiple medications without any signs of stomach ulcers
- People who are experiencing acid rebound symptoms (a return of excess stomach acid) after stopping a long-term acid-reducing medication that was no longer medically required
- People who have not been diagnosed with a confirmed reflux disease condition through a camera examination of the stomach (confirm with trial site)
- People for whom current medical guidelines do not recommend ongoing use of this type of acid-reducing medication
- People who do not have any medical reasons that would make it unsafe to take the study medication, Talcid® (confirm with trial site for the full list of safety considerations)
- People who are willing to use Talcid® Chewable Tablets to manage acid rebound symptoms as needed
- People whose treating doctor has recommended on-demand use of Talcid® as part of their usual care
- People who have purchased Talcid® for their own use
- People who have signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
- People who are not currently taking part in another clinical research study involving treatments outside of routine care
