Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had at least 12 months pass since the event that caused their condition
- People whose pain meets the International Pain Working Group's definition of central neuropathic pain below the level of their injury or lesion, and who have had this pain for at least 6 months
- People between 18 and 65 years of age
- People whose pain is not caused by other conditions such as rheumatological diseases or diabetes
- People whose pain remains above a score of 4 on a standard pain scale (VAS) despite having already tried maximum doses of pain medications (including anticonvulsants, antidepressants, and narcotics), exercise, and physical therapy, with their kidney function and other health conditions taken into account
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of epilepsy
- People who have a metal implant in the scalp
- People who have a cochlear implant (a device implanted in the ear for hearing)
- People who have a spinal cord stimulator device
- People who have a pacemaker
- People with a diagnosed psychiatric illness
- People who are pregnant
